Hello! I'm Julie Israelson, and I am a 7th Grade Individuals & Societies (Social Studies) teacher, and the MYP Coordinator at Lincoln. I have been a Lancer since the spring of 2004. Prior to teaching at Lincoln, I taught English in Japan for a little over a year. I have a BA in History with a Secondary Teaching Certificate from Colorado State University. In addition, I have a TEFL certificate from the Boston Language Institute and an MA in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I am also a National Geographic Certified Educator. As you can tell from my credentials, I am passionate about learning about other cultures and history and want to build the same passion in my students. I have led international service trips for Lincoln students to Central America since 2010; I absolutely love traveling with students! My hobbies include enjoying Colorado's beautiful outdoors, spending time with my dog, family, and friends, and traveling to places near and far. In my students, I hope to inspire a curiosity about the world and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. In addition, I believe that learning about others can teach us a lot about ourselves and who we want to be in our interconnected world.
