Hello new Lincoln Lancers. Your Information Day is August 17.

Principal's Letter

7/31/2020
Dear Lincoln Families:

I hope this email finds you well and in good health. We are so excited to begin working with our students again! This email will be a bit lengthy, but it feels important that I share details with you about returning to school.

Our students will return on an A/B half-day schedule that will be from 8:05-12:00. If you are unsure of which group your child is in, please log into Parentvue or Studentvue. I have attached the A/B bell schedule for you to reference. All students will only have 4 classes and an advisory while we are on a half-day schedule. When we transition to a full-day A/B schedule, students will have all their classes on their schedule.

In years past we’ve had designated days that students and parents enter the building prior to the start of the year to pick up schedules, pay fees and take care of other things. This year we will host a drive through service that will include checking out laptops to our students.

Please make it a priority to get to Lincoln on your designated day:
6th Grade Mon. August 17: 8:00 a.m.-Noon
Last names A-K 8:00-10:00
Last names L-Z 10:00-12:00
7th Grade Tues. August 18: 8:00 a.m.-Noon
Last names A-K 8:00-10:00
Last names L-Z 10:00-12:00
8th Grade Wed. August 19: 8:00 a.m.-Noon
Last names A-K 8:00-10:00
Last names L-Z 10:00-12:00

Make-Up Day Thurs. August 20: 8:00-Noon

During these times, we will host a drive by service at Lincoln for the following purpose:
1. Pick up student laptop
2. Pay student fees/yearbook
3. Sign up for Free and Reduced lunch
4. Pick up student schedule
5. Turn in immunization docs/nurse
6. Possibly get information about athletics
7. Pick up school supplies if needed
8. Sign READ plan documents if needed
9. Receive information about the mobile clinic
10. Update personal/contact information

A few notes:
• We have decided to adjust our student fee amount to a significantly lower rate at $10.00 per student. This includes the cost of a student planner. In the event clubs and sports happen, there will be additional fees our families will pay.
• School pictures have been moved to 10/7 & 10/8. More details to follow.
• School supply lists will be posted on our website by next Friday, and they will be substantially smaller than the past year.
• All students can eat breakfast for free at Lincoln.
• All students will be able to get or buy a sack lunch when they leave at the end of the school day (and a
breakfast and lunch for the following day).

The document titled “2020 PSD Together” is available in the Document Section on this page. You received this from the district a while ago, but I wanted it to be in a place that was easy to reference. It can be found on the district webpage.  This document outlines the requirements of face coverings, personal protective equipment, and health and safety. It also clearly outlines the expectations of staff, students and parents as we work to keep everyone safe during this time of transition.

PSD Virtual Registration:
The deadline to enroll in PSD Virtual, a 100% remote education option for the 2020-21 school year, has been extended from Aug. 1 to Aug. 8. If you are interested in registering your child for this option for the duration of the 2020-2021 school year (with the possibility of returning to Lincoln at semester if space permits), submit your “PSD Virtual Intent to Enroll” through ParentVUE. For more about PSDV, including answers to FAQs, visit the PSD Virtual website. Email questions to psdvinfo@psdschools.org.
If you enroll in PSDV, your child will be co-enrolled at Lincoln but receiving instruction through PSDV instructors.
Be sure to monitor our website as our situation is subject to change based on local data. Please email me at pstires@psdschools.org if you have any questions about the upcoming school year. We cannot wait to see everyone!
