I serve as a tutor for all grades, primarily in core classes. I've been at Lincoln Middle School since 2007. I earned both my bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University.

I've worked with students at both the university level and K-12. Before coming to Lincoln, I was a manager at a student-housing complex at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. At CSU, I worked in health education and as a resident assistant in student housing. I've worked in the Denver Public Schools as a substitute paraprofessional in special needs classrooms and as a summer camp counselor for the Denver Parks and Recreation department. In addition, I've served as a crew leader for the Larimer County Conservation Corps, leading teens in conservation projects throughout the county.

In 2004, I spent half a year in Cuernavaca Mexico, volunteering at a home for orphaned and abandoned children with the organization Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos. In 1956, my mom was only the sixth girl to be accepted into this organization, which today has campuses in seven countries and has served over 18,000 children. My mom later became the principal of the school in Cuernavaca before moving to the US. 

I love to travel when I have the chance. I have toured 18 countries in Europe, both as a tourist and visiting family in Ireland. I've also spent two months in Thailand and have been to Mexico many times to visit family. Traveling in the US, I've been to over 30 states and I hope to visit more.  

I believe in the importance of recognizing and appreciating diversity. I've presented workshops at three national conferences on the topic of university support for diverse students, addressing areas of accessibility, ADA compliance, and assessing institutional commitment to serve minority students.
