Lincoln International Service Learning Trip

*Due to the COVID19 pandemic, all information is subject to change based on current regulations and the overall safety of international travel. That being said, we had a successful trip in February of 2022 and are moving forward with planning a 2022-2023 trip.

Lincoln students have the opportunity to participate in a service learning trip to a foreign country. In past years, we have visited Nicaragua and Costa Rica. While traveling, students participate in a variety of intercultural experiences, including several service projects, cross-cultural experiences, dinner with a local family, and exploration of the unique nature in Central America.

Who goes on the trip?

Students will apply to participate during the spring semester of their 6th .  The application process asks students to reflect on their leadership experience and potential, their dedication to their school and community, and their ability to contribute to a positive travel experience for the group.  The applications are evaluated and a group is selected.  This group is placed in a specific Advisory class starting the fall semester before the trip.  There are a handful of required meetings, required curriculum, and post-trip responsibilities that each participant must agree to complete.

How can my student participate?

An informational meeting will be held and applications will be released for the 2022-2023 trip on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 6:15pm in the Lincoln Auditorium. Please stay tuned for more information.  Specific questions can be directed to any one of our International Travel Team:
