Dear Lincoln Community:

Lincoln Middle, an I.B. World School is proud to be a part of the International Baccalaureate community. The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.   To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. This philosophy comes to life when we take our students to Utah and Costa Rica for service learning experiences.  Throughout the school year, our students participate in a variety of authentic learning experiences in order to grow their capacity around global mindedness.

Lincoln is part of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). MYP is a five-year programme, which is implemented in partnership with Poudre High School. Students who complete the MYP are well-prepared to undertake the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or other passions of choice. The MYP requires at least 50 hours of learning time for each subject group, in each year of the programme.  Our students experience a rich curriculum that includes Language Acquisition, Language and literature, Individuals and Societies, Science, Mathematics, Arts, Physical Education and Health, and Design.

We are located on the North end of Fort Collins and have a beautiful 50-acre campus that backs up to the Poudre Trail and is surrounded by the foothills.

This is my third year at L.M.S. and it continues to be a great privilege serving the Lincoln community.  I have 27 years of diverse experience in public education, including special education and adult education.  I’m a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and hold degrees in Special Education and Educational Leadership.

I hope you will take the opportunity to stop in and introduce yourself, explore our campus, and experience LANCER PRIDE first hand!

Regards,

Penny Stires
