I grew up in Fort Collins and I was a Lincoln alumni. I am happily married to a wonderful teacher that also works in northern Colorado. We have 2 sweet chihuahuas named Cinnamon and Sugar. I am so very happy and proud to be back at Lincoln as a teacher. I am a first generation college student. I have had many jobs growing up, like a house painter, forklift operator and a paraprofessional. Teaching is something that I love. When I went to Lincoln I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by adults that wanted to invest their time and energy to help prepare me for highschool and the adult world.
Both of my parents entered the workforce after graduating high school and they never saw the value of education. Shortly after I graduated High school I followed in my parents steps by joining the work force directly out of school. I worked several different jobs with varying levels of success. I decided to go back to school after I got as far as I could in life by being honest and hard working, I decided that I needed an education. I earned my Associates Degree from Front Range Community College. I then transferred over to Colorado State University where I earned my teaching degree. I am happy to keep developing my teaching skills
Being back at Lincoln has given me a chance to give back to a school that laid the foundations for my future success. I really like getting to know my students on a personal level so I can design learning actives that are a related to their interests and lives outside of school. I am proud to be a positive role model for kids that need it. I hope that my learners are getting the tools and skills needed to build the life they want.
I enjoy reading about developing my teaching pedagogy like Teach Like a Champion and Making Thinking Visible. I love reading comic books, right now I am reading Savage Avengers and loving it!
I love to work on my LEGO city. I have two beautiful dogs that I like to take on walks with my wife. During the summer I really like making BBQ ribs. I also build and paint scale models for commission. I am also a visual artist, so you might see me selling my art in Old town Fort Collins.
The kids and the staff. We have the best kids and staff in northern Colorado. I am so proud to be a part of a school that strives to give our kids the best education possible. Our Administration team really cares bout our kids and staff and they go the extra mile to support our success. We have a building full of people that are make Lincoln a place I am proud to be a part of.
