I hail from England and have been in Fort Collins for 16 years. This is my 5th year with Lincoln! My family moved to the USA when my children were 12 years, 11 years and 6 weeks old -20 years ago- and we all love it and are settled here. I was a teacher back in the UK and became interested in special education. I have worked with all age ranges in schools and have been with PSD as a teacher, tutor and/or para for 10 years.
As a child I attended both traditional and progressive schools and moved with my family quite a bit. My bachelors degree (BA) is from The Open University. My teaching qualification (PGCE Post Graduate Certificate in Education) is from Nottingham, UK. These credentials were verified by World Education Services -and I also passed the Colorado 'PLACE" test- in order for me to obtain a Colorado Teaching License. I have taught reading as a volunteer at the Center For Adult Learning (CAL) at Front Range Community College and have served as an Academic Mentor to student athletes at Colorado State University. I completed a Master's in Education degree program at CSU in 2019.
Teaching is an important job. It's great to work at Lincoln with many dedicated, experienced and enthusiastic professionals to make every day a worthwhile, happy and productive day for the students.
Charles Dickens. Shakespeare. HG Wells. Just the greatest stories, AND often funny.
Repairing and refinishing nice furniture. Fixing and riding bikes. Riding Yamaha XJ600 motorcycle. Painting signs (the traditional type). Hiking with my dogs and family.
People truly care about each other at Lincoln and this makes for a really positive atmosphere. The building itself is very interesting and I think we have a fantastic view of the foothills from our fields.
"Always keep the diamond in your mind." T Waits (meaning to me: follow your inner vision)
Each day I support teachers and students in various classrooms around the school.
