My name is Christy Price, and this year I will be teaching English Language Development (ELD) - Grades 6,7,8, and Newcomer Geography/History here at Lincoln Middle School. This year marks my 29th year as an educator and 9th year at Lincoln. I am a native Texan, and I moved here to Colorado 10 years ago, as my husband is from here. I've been so fortunate to be a member of the Lincoln staff. I graduated with a B.S. degree in Economics with a minor in English from Texas A&M University. I spent my first 5 years after college working as an accountant with Merrill Lynch in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. I was teaching Sunday school classes on the weekends, and I found that my heart really was in teaching, not in working with numbers, so I decided to change careers and become a teacher - absolutely the best decision I've ever made. Even after all this time, I still love working as a teacher. I am certified to teach grades K-12 with an additional endorsement to teach English Language Learners, but the bulk of my career has been spent teaching grades 4-8. During my teaching career, I have also held several additional positions while being a teacher, serving as a grade-level department head, lead teacher, and instructional coach, to name a few. My profile picture shows my husband and me when he was giving me my first lesson on how to drive in the snow/ice up here. I'm used to palm trees, sunny beaches, and the occasional hurricane in South Texas. I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and our dogs, spending time in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado, reading, listening to music with the windows down in my vehicle and the wind blowing through my hair. My husband and I have a daughter who has graduated from college and is now working in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We still have two little "children" at home - our dogs, Sadie and Miss Kitty, who bring much joy into our lives. I look forward to working with our parents to help our children succeed. It makes me happy when former students who have gone on to high school come back and visit me. I love to hear about their many successes. I am a firm believer that a strong connection between home and school is vital to the success of our children. Thank you for all your help and support!
