I have been teaching at Lincoln since 2015 and have LOVED every minute of it! I have been working with students in other schools and summer camps since 2006. I believe life is about experiences and school is no different (for instance...I built a sandbox for my classroom that the students love to use during our Landforms Unit and throughout the year). Aside from teaching Social Studies to 7th graders, I also coach Odyssey of the Mind, Co-Lead the Costa Rica Program, Lead COPACK (Colorado Promotes Achievement, Character, and Kindness) Trips, and run the Ski and Snowboard excursion.
Born and raised in Fort Collins, I graduated in 2008 from Poudre High School.
I started my Undergrad at University of Northern Colorado and finished up at Western Governors University.
I am currently working on my Master's in Educational Leadership through Western Governors University.
The students. I love watching them have those "ah-ha" moments and seeing them push themselves to the next level.
The Emerald Mile is a current favorite.
When I am not teaching or working with kids, I can probably be found playing on a hockey rink, boarding on the slopes, or rafting a river.
Our Staff is second only to the all of our students who make Lincoln the AMAZING place it is.
"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." - William Butler Yeats
I have taught Read 180, Science, and math, but currently I am enjoying teaching Social Studies to 6th and 7th Graders.
My classroom functions off of a two-way street of trust and respect. All students can trust they are safe in my classroom to take risks and persevere through challenging work. I can trust that they are giving me their best every single day.
